Basic Chicken Curry Recipe Easy - Well guys I know I'm a bit slow but I'm 63yrs old but I finally tonite cooked dumplings on top of my beef curry can not believe how good they turned out.
Honestly that last photo I was half way through eating and thought must show people what they look like inside before I eat it all were so light I'm absolutely delighted on how they turned out.
Absolutely and hours of the beautiful smells make my home that I love feel even more homey down side I get the feeling my visitors would like to be asked to stay for dinner haha.
Ok I make this without following ANY recipe and I don't cook the curry up to bring out the flavour I feel being in the Slow Cooker for long time does that anyway.
Chicken Curry Recipe
1kg of stewing steak diced floured and quickly brown up in frying pan as 2 medium size onions sliced in 1/2 ring and toss around in frying pan for 2mins put ALL SC with chopped up 3 carrot not TOO SMALL 2 medium potatoes chopped into 8 pieces each same amount of sweet potato put cup of sliced beans peas what ever you like mix 1 beef stock up in it not necessary salt if needed dessert spoon peppercorns 1-2 tablespoons of curry power mix in a bit of water and stir depends how you like your curry I put 1/4 teaspoon chilli flakes in just and just cover or you'll finish up with way too much liquid put on high for first hour turn back to low do another 3 -4 hours depends on SC and if you want dumplings in that 3-4 hour turn up high thicken up with 2 tablespoons of gravy mix in a bit runny paste mix in well soon as bubbling starts pop dumpling mixture on top cover SC with clean tea towel I used clean chux put lid on top leave for 20 minutes don't lift lid in this time and dinner is all done sorry not good at printing this out but there is nothing here that can go wrong only be careful if you put stock cube in maybe you won't need to add salt just have fun doing it you'll love the aroma.
Sorry but want to mention that makes about 12 so you can just half all ingredients if wanting less. I rolled mine as big as a golf ball.
Dumplings Recipes
2 cups sifted SR flour good pinch salt 2tbls soft butter or margarine rub with tip of fingers till all mixed in well in flour then mix 160ml COLD water makes a moist dough then with floured hands roll roughly into balls drop each one on top of meat put tea towel over SC then put lid on for 20mins just make sure SC is on high 15 mins before cooking dumplings I make my dumplings plain as there is enough flavours in stew but you can add herbs if you want but most of all enjoy.
Thank-you all for the lovely comments you can make up your own curry recipes to your own taste but what I was wondering has any body actually had a go at my recipes here dumplings and all as I would like to know how you went and what did you think and that could be good bad or ugly haha
